In conjunction with Smalti Australia and Mosaic Bazaar, we are again offering a unique Smalti Workshop on Sunday 23rd March, 2025. Held at Aldinga Community Shed, Symonds Reserve, Aldinga Beach, South Australia, this will be a great opportunity for students new to Smalti, and also students wishing to further their skills and knowledge in this area of mosaics. On the day, students will be able to purchase as they create their mosaic, with the beautiful Smalti Library of Italian and Mexican Smalti on offer.
All students will recieve a substrate wall hanging, custom cut by Carol, with hand made ceramic pieces, as the focal point of your mosaic. (these are made by Ruby and Me ceramic Arts) Some of these pieces will be circular, so to create a Mandala type mosaic, and others, a more natural shape, depicting Agate. Smalti will fill the exterior, to the edge and students will learn about cutting Smalti and use of Andamento within the piece (as per photo)
** The Smalti Library will be open from 2pm until 4pm only, for mosaic enthusiasts wishing to JUST purchase Smalti (and not participate in the workshop)

A small palette knife
Tweezers
A small hand towel
Containers for your Smalti (optional)
Your lunch (tea, coffee etc supplied)
COST: $150 plus your Smalti on the day. A non refundable deposit of $50 is payable upon booking, to secure your place. Balance payable on the day (cash or card)
