Triptych Workshop, using Smalti, Texture techniques and Pigment Sunday 11th August 2019

My friend, Beate Linckelmann, from Mosaic Bazaar, and I will again be teaming up to offer this workshop at Aldinga Community Shed, Aldinga Beach, South Australia, Sunday, August 11th 2019. During this workshop, you will be creating a tryptich (3 pieces) using Smalti, Glass Fusions, Millefiori and a textural background, using various colour pigments. You will be able to create 3 matching pieces or 3 that are completely different. Pigments, glass fusions, Millefiori and 3 boards will be supplied. Beate will also have extra pigments to purchase on the day, as well, she will have her travelling Orsoni Smalti library, so you are able to purchase your choice of Smalti to add into your mosaics. The class is from 10am until 4pm. Cost is $150. A deposit of $40 is required to secure your place, balance payable in cash on the day. BYO lunch. Morning and afternoon tea are supplied. You are required to bring twin wheel glass cutters, a small towel to rest your mosaic on, tweezers, and a palette knife.

This day will give you an opportunity to create as you go, learn some new techniques using pigments, feel a sense of satisfaction at the end of the day, whilst enjoying the class in a relaxed, fun, therapeutic, friendly environment. Please contact me to book.

Fun, Frivolous Fishy Workshop, Saturday 4th May 2019

This fun, enjoyable day held at my home studio, offers students and opportunity to create “on the spot”. It challenges the student to bring out their creative side and to feel a sense of satisfaction at the end of the day. The art therapy aspect of this workshop is my main focus, so students enjoy a relaxed environment, a small group, and plenty of fun! I supply 3 fishies each student, and an array of materials to use to create your pieces, including hand made glass fusions, millefiori, smalti beads and other lovely materials. You will need to bring a palette knife, glass wheel cutters if you have some, and also your lunch. Tea/coffee supplied. Cost is $130 for the day. A $40 deposit is required to secure you place. Beginners Mosaic Workshop Saturday 23rd February 2019

This is a great introduction for the beginner, to learn all the basics about creating a mosaic. You will learn about adhesives, substrates (bases) tools, grouting, materials, and design ideas and techniques. The class is held at my home studio, south of Adelaide, and runs from 10am until 4pm. Cost is $120 for the day, which includes your materials for your first mosaic. I will supply a board for you to create your mosaic on. Use of tools and equipment will be available to students. Tea/coffee supplied, but BYO lunch. A $40 deposit is required to secure your place, and balance on the day. Class is limited to five students. Please contact me if you would like to book.

Beginners Mosaic Workshop Saturday 30th March 2019

This is an introduction for people new to mosaics and interested in learning the basics of making a mosaic. You will learn about tools and cutting, materials, substrates, grouting, adhesives and basic design. The class is held at my home studio, 10am until 4pm. A small class with only 4 students which means you will enjoy plenty of tuition and help from myself, whilst having a fun and enjoyable day. Cost for the day is $120, includes materials. Andamento and Patterns with Smalti Workshop, (plus option of afternoon driftwood routing) Sunday 3rd February, 2019

Yours truly, and my friend, Beate Linckelmann, from Mosaic Bazaar, will be conducting a Smalti Workshop on Sunday 3rd February, 10am until 4pm at Aldinga Community Shed, Symonds Reserve, Butterworth Rd, Aldinga Beach. Andamento creates the visual “flow” and direction of your mosaic, using your Smalti in specific patterns. Andamento is the bones of a mosaic, sometimes though, a forgotten afterthought. Such an important part of your mosaic, and in this workshop, you will learn about various forms of “Opus”. This workshop will be suitable for all levels of experience. Beate will be on hand, with her travelling Smalti Library, for which you will be able to choose and purchase Smalti. I will be supplying a 30cm x 30cm board for you to create your mosaic on, and a choice of designs will be available. Also, included, use of adhesives, sundries etc. On the day, as an extra option, for people that may have had previous experience with Smalti, and would like to participate in some routing of Driftwood, power tools will be available for use, in the second workshop in the community shed. Frivolous Fishy Workshop, Saturday 8th December 2018 **BOOKED OUT**

Enjoy a free wheeling, fun, and relaxed day, where you challenge yourself to 'create as you go' mosaic fishies, no holds, barred!  Held at my home studio, this workshop caters for beginners and more advanced students, and will give you the opportunity to create up to three fishies. You will feel a good sense of achievement and satisfaction, by creating the fishies as you go. This way, no frustration and annoyance, which can often occur in creating a mosaic! You will be supplied with 3 fishy cut outs, and hand made glass fusions and beads, millefiori, and other fun goodies to decorate your fish with. A great opportunity to make something for a loved one for Xmas. Cost for the day is $120. Class is 10am until 4pm. BYO a Pallette Knife (approx 4cm long), tweezers and your lunch. Artist Demonstration of Smalti, Pepper Street Arts Centre, Saturday 13th October 2018

On Saturday 13th October, 2018, between 12.30 and 3.30pm, Beate Linckelmann, from Mosaic Bazaar, and myself, will be presenting a demonstration on Smalti. There will be a slide show, and demonstration by Beate, followed by a talk from yours truly about the Smalti process on a piece. This afternoon is free of charge. Please come along during the month of October to the MAANZ exhibition, "Precious Earth" at Pepper Street Arts Centre, Magill from 5th -26th October. Opening night Friday 5th 6pm.

Enjoy a free wheeling, relaxed, fun, funky fishy day, where you challenge yourself to "create as you go" Fishies, no holds barred! This will allow you to feel a good sense of achievement and satisfaction by the end of the day, and take home your fishies completed! You will be supplied with all materials to make up to 3 Fishies. Marmox Fish cut outs, Glass Fusions, Smalti Beads and other goodies will be supplied. If you wish, you can also bring along some goodies you would like to incorporate into your fish as well. BYO a Palette Knife and your lunch. Oh, and a sense of free wheeling fishy fun! Only 5 places. Held at my home studio. 10am until 4pm Cost $120 (deposit required to secure your place)
